Hello World!

I'm Azfar. And when my bank account isn't filled with cobwebs I love to take the chance to travel around the world. In this first entry of my blog, I'll share with you the trip that I made down to Singapore to attend the now annualized music festival - Laneway Festival!

The Journey

When deciding the mode of transport from KL to Singapore, I wanted to go with something that is memorable and interesting. Taking a bus, while it's very cheap, is quite boring as you are stuck in high ways and only see fields of palm trees to no end. Taking a plane, on the other hand was too expensive, and more of a hassle than of any ease, as you still have to take into consideration the waiting time to board and luggage handling. Not to mention the train ride into the city centre

Finally, I decided to go with the train. While it did take the longest to get there as compared to the other transportations, the fare wasn't so bad. It did make for a very interesting ride as I manage to see a wide variety of scenery along the Malaysian Peninsular. The train passed a number of villages and small towns, crossed rivers and through jungles and forests. On top of that, there were on-board refreshments available which was nice.

The train arrived on time at Woodlands Station, which was on the northern side of Singapore. I had to take a bus ride to the city centre, which was cheaper than train. Once I arrived at the location of my hotel, at last, my adventure through Singapore starts!
